Fatal crash claims motorcyclist’s life in Bowen Hills

A woman has tragically died following a crash between a motorcycle and a vehicle in Bowen Hills on Tuesday night.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Allison Street and the Inner City Bypass around 7.40pm on August 27 after reports of a serious collision involving a blue Volvo station wagon and a motorcycle.

Paramedics treated the rider, a 28-year-old Thorneside woman, for critical injuries, but she was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the Volvo, a 29-year-old Hamilton man, was not physically injured.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the crash and is appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage from the area to come forward.

Queensland Police continue to remind motorists about the dangers of the Fatal Five driving behaviours: speeding, drink and drug driving, not wearing seatbelts, fatigue, and distraction.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Policelink or Crime Stoppers.
