Queensland Police are investigating a death of a man in a Brisbane shopping centre in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Emergency Serivces were called to a group of shops in Manly west around 2.47 am.

Police received reports of a man suffering life threatening injuries at the Manly Heights Shopping village. The man in his 40s was decleared dead appon the arrival of emergency services.

Detective Inspector Wayne Francis said the man appeared to have suffered a "brutal and violent attack".

A 45 year old man is assisting police with their investigation.

Police are urging anyone with relevant CCTV or Dashcam of this area between 12 am and 3 am to contact police.
