The Queensland Police Service has laid further charges against a 33-year-old North Lakes man as part of Operation Xray Bold, an ongoing investigation targeting serious domestic and family violence offenders in the Moreton District.

The man, who police allege is a known associate of the Bandidos outlaw motorcycle gang, was originally charged on June 13 with 12 offences, including grievous bodily harm, rape, strangulation, deprivation of liberty, and unlawful stalking.

Following further investigations, detectives have now charged him with an additional 28 serious offences, bringing the total to 40. These include:

  • 18 counts of rape

  • 2 counts of choking

  • Torture

  • Sexual assault

  • Assault occasioning bodily harm

  • Coercive control expose a child

  • Acts intended to transmit serious disease

  • Intimidation, harassment, and stalking offences

Police allege that the new charges relate not only to the original complainant, but also to a second female victim, both of whom were known to the man.

The accused remains in custody and is due to appear at the Brisbane Magistrates Court on September 30.

Detective Inspector Phil Hurst of the Moreton District SCIT unit said investigators believe there may be additional victims.

“We are urging anyone who may have been a victim of this man to contact police,” Detective Inspector Hurst said.
“SCIT detectives appreciate the sensitivity and significance of reporting sexual and domestic violence, so please be assured that we’ll treat you and your story with respect.”

Police also confirmed that a search of the man’s North Lakes residence in June allegedly uncovered weapons including a machete and a baseball bat, along with electronic devices and drug paraphernalia. Those items remain under forensic examination.

Authorities stressed that the Serious Crime Investigation Team was specifically established to target repeat and high-risk offenders in order to protect victims and bring perpetrators before the courts.
