Detectives have charged two men with torture as investigations continue into the suspicious disappearance of Kelvin Grove man Andrew Burow.
The 56-year-old was last seen on August 20, with his disappearance reported to police four days later. Officers say his failure to contact family or friends is out of character, sparking growing concern for his welfare.
On August 26, detectives declared a crime scene at a Lorimer Terrace address in Kelvin Grove, before investigations led them north to a Kokoda Avenue property in Bli Bli the following day. Further crime scenes were established at Black Pinch Road, Pomona and Kamala Drive, Lake MacDonald.
Following extensive inquiries, police arrested two men, a 26-year-old from North Lakes and a 38-year-old from Sippy Downs. Both have been charged with one count of torture.
The 38-year-old was remanded in custody and is due to reappear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Friday, August 29. The 26-year-old has also been remanded and is scheduled to return to the same court on October 13.
Police and family continue to hold serious concerns for Andrew’s safety, urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to come forward.
Andrew is described as Caucasian, with a fair complexion, reddish-sandy hair and bluish-green eyes.
